a week full of adventure

tirthan

Set along the pristine Tirthan River in the Himalayas, this program is built around a three activities —river craft, backpacking, and rappelling. Participants engage closely with the river through guided sessions that include river crossing techniques, understanding currents, and learning how to stay safe in and around water, along with visits to nearby waterfalls. Continue into a backpacking experience through oak and cedar forests, where campers carry their own gear and spend a night outdoors, building self-reliance, endurance, and teamwork in real conditions, while rappelling on natural rock faces adds an element of challenge, developing focus, trust, and confidence—all within a safe, well-supported environment.

Step Up: River, Trail & Camp – Tirthan

Camp Tirthan builds progressively from in-camp river experiences to a multi-day Himalayan trek. Participants begin with water-based activities at Chhoie waterfalls and a guided river crossing on the Tirthan River, learning how to move safely and confidently in and around water. The journey then shifts to the trail, with a 2.5-kilometre trek to Jhumala alpine meadow, where campers pitch tents and cook their own meals. A further day of trekking through oak and cedar forests leads to overnight camping in high-altitude bugyals, before concluding with a final homestay in the valley.
