Camp Skandagiri is designed for children stepping into the outdoors for the first time. It’s a chance to spend a few days away from home, close to nature, and in the company of new friends. The experience is intentionally simple no luxury, no distractions just a meaningful time in the wilderness. Children learn to manage on their own, take care of personal chores like washing their plates or making their beds, and slowly grow more independent, responsible, and confident with each passing day.
Every activity at camp is thoughtfully designed to build life skills. Whether it’s bouldering, low ropes, hiking, or learning basic survival techniques, each experience encourages campers to trust themselves, work as a team, and step beyond their comfort zone. Through playful yet purposeful sessions, children learn to problem-solve, stay aware, adapt to new situations, and support one another. Creative group games and reflective moments help deepen these lessons, making sure the learning goes far beyond the activity itself.

Being well fed and hydrated is crucial to staying energised for the action-packed days. A fully functional kitchen on camp dishes up fresh, wholesome and nutritious food for every meal. Water, soup or juice provided during hydration breaks through the day. Our instructors take care of the rest. They're all certified outdoor experts who go through extensive training and assessment before working with us. For the comfort and special needs of girls, there is a female instructor assigned to each activity group. A doctor is also present on camp at all times to attend to medical needs.
Participants travel from Bangalore to camp in AC buses with push-back seats. The group departs at 10:00 AM and reaches the campsite in time for lunch. On the return, buses arrive at the assembly point in Bangalore by 4:00 PM. Outstation participants should plan to arrive in Bangalore on the morning of the departure date. Travel is supervised by instructors from start to finish, making sure children are safe and settled throughout the journey
While our programs are designed for beginners, a bit of movement before camp goes a long way in building stamina and confidence. We recommend light jogging, walking, or stretching for about 30–45 minutes a day in the two weeks leading up to departure. It’s also helpful to break in the shoes your child will wear at camp. A little preparation helps children feel more comfortable and enjoy the adventure to the fullest.
