A short drive from Bangalore, Camp Magadi is designed for 10–12 year olds taking their first steps into the outdoors. With short travel, small groups, and a caring team, it offers just the right balance of fun and gentle challenge. Over 5 days, children get a chance to be on their own, meet new people, and explore the outdoors - all in a safe, thoughtfully structured space. It's a space for children to grow, build confidence, and return with stories they're proud of.
Children take part in three main activities - kayaking basics, bouldering and short hikes. Mornings are spent outdoors with our instructors, exploring the natural landscape and learning new skills. Afternoons shift to fun and engaging camp-based sessions that include games, team challenges and group reflections. Each activity is an opportunity to learn something new from managing fear and working in a team to building resilience and responsibility.

It’s not a resort; and that’s the point. Stepping out of their comfort zone helps children break boundaries, become more independent, and enjoy the joy of shared living.

Being well fed and hydrated is crucial to staying energised for the action-packed days. A fully functional kitchen on camp dishes up fresh, wholesome and nutritious food for every meal. Water, soup or juice provided during hydration breaks through the day. Our instructors take care of the rest. They're all certified outdoor experts who go through extensive training and assessment before working with us. For the comfort and special needs of girls, there is a female instructor assigned to each activity group. A doctor is also present on camp at all times to attend to medical needs.
The group departs from Bangalore in AC buses with push-back seats at 9:00am. We reach the camp in time for lunch. On the way back home, the bus reaches the assembly point by 6:00pm. Outstation participants need to fly into Bangalore on the morning of the departure date.
We recommend a little jogging, stretching and exercise a few weeks before the departure to gain the flexibility and agility needed to truly enjoy the experience. Do this wearing the shoes you want to carry for the program—it'll help break into them.
