White water rafting is perhaps the most popular adventure sport in India, and on our summer camps. Indeed, there is something invigorating about steering your way through the gushing waters on an inflatable boat!
Rafting is all about maneuvering the raft through rapids - sections of a river with increased water velocity or turbulence. Rapids are graded based on the volume of water, the gradient, presence of rocks etc. Rapids graded 1 are the safest and are easy to navigate. Rapids graded 6 are considered unnavigable. Children are exposed to rapids up to grade 3.
Before going on to the river, we take children through hydrology sessions to help them understand the physics of river formations and movements.
