Our Yercaud campus is set within a 250-acre coffee estate and plantation in the Shevaroys range of hills in the Eastern Ghats. The name Yercaud means "Lake Forest" and was named such due to the abundance of trees near a lake made by the locals. It is also known as Jewel of the South. Situated at an altitude of 4970 feet, it is located 30 KM from the city of Salem, Tamil Nadu.
Accommodation on the campus is in tents (separate for boys and girls) that are laid out in two rows with open areas for activities. A large open structure made in local style is the central hub that doubles up for activities and dining.
Typically a summer camp at Yercaud has 70 participants who work in 4 smaller activity groups of 15-18 participants under the care and guidance of trained outdoor instructors. Participants select two of the four activities offered on the program - Rock Climbing, Wilderness Craft, Back Packing, and Ropes Course. They are engaged with the 2 selected activities for 3 days each. The chosen outdoor activities are conducted in the first half of the day. Post lunch, participants engage in activities that include community service, environment awareness or village visits. Late evenings are for informal activities, campfire, and group interaction.
Choose any two activities from the available activities.
You cannot opt for Rock Climbing and Ropes Course together
Please Note: While fun is an important element in our designs, we do not promise a cushioned, luxury holiday. We take utmost care to ensure that children are well fed, remain hydrated and have a comfortable sleep. But being without phones, sharing living spaces, baths, toilets is as much a part of the unfamiliar environment that aids learning as the great big outdoors.
