Explore the world of eternal ice and alpine meadows on this 10-day hiking expedition designed for 13-16 year olds. Set in Tauern National Park in the Tyrol region of Austria, the program gives participants an opportunity to trek the eastern Alps, walk across a glacier and marvel at the glowing blue walls of ice. The quaint village of Kals, at the foot of Grobglockner serves as our base camp.
The program starts at Zell am See. Zell am See is a picturesque lakeside town which is a charming summer destination. Next stop is in the middle of the impressive mountains (Hohe Tauern Range) at East Tyrol. The base for the next few days of trekking is Kals. On return they will return to Zel am See and catch the flight back from Munich.
Participants are accompanied by experienced and certified Austrian guides on the trek. Accommodation is provided in well-equipped mountain huts with showers and hot meals.
Please Note: While fun is an important element in our designs, we do not promise a cushioned, luxury holiday. We take utmost care to ensure that children are well fed, remain hydrated and have a comfortable sleep. But being without phones, sharing living spaces, baths, toilets is as much a part of the unfamiliar environment that aids learning as the great big outdoors.
