Kayaking allows for a great feel of the river flow. Children learn that mildest of currents and the slightest movement of the paddle makes a difference. There are primarily two types on Kayaks used on an Inme adventure camp - Hard Shell and Inflatables. Inflatables, also known as the duckies or IKs, can usually be transported by hand using a carry bag.
Rapids are graded based on the volume of water, the gradient, presence of rocks etc. Rapids graded 1 are the safest and are easy to navigate. Rapids graded 6 are considered un-navigable. Children are exposed to rapids up to grade 2. Before going on to the river, children on our camps go through hydrology sessions to understand the physics of river formations and movements.
Inme adventure camps offer both Sea and River Kayaking experiences to its participants.
